As the semester gets started we’re all hoping to see the same thing – a successful ministry built and lives transformed. So, it’s important to remember the key to building a successful ministry is through investing in people.
That’s why I love the above quote from Michael W. Smith. Jesus transformed the world by pouring his life into 12 men and all those he came into contact with. The best way to see your campus transformed this year is by taking the time to invest in the people God has given you.
If you’re an advisor then take the time to invest in leaders and potential future leaders. If you’re a student use your time to invest in the lives of other students around you. One passionate person can start a movement, but it doesn’t actually become a movement until people decide to follow that person and that usually happens when a little bit of an investment has been made.
People will always be our most important asset in building the Kingdom of God.
There are plenty of ways to invest in people (more on this next week), but the important thing is to just make a conscious effort to invest in people before you get caught up in the busyness of planning out meetings, making sure details of events are taken care of, and the other things that consume our time. We can see transformation as we do what Jesus did as he prayed in John 17, “As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.” We’re believing that God transforms your campus in a powerful way this year as you invest into the lives of students!
