Staying Passionate

Fall 11 ConferenceWow! The Fall ’11 BASIC Conference was such an incredible time! I regularly thank God for the opportunity to be a part of what He is doing in the lives of college students across the BASIC network. It was so encouraging to spend time in God’s presence and see all that He did in student’s lives during this weekend. I can’t wait for the Spring Conference March 23-25!

I hope you and your students were blessed and are now pumped up to see God transform your campus. I know we’re in the last half of the semester, but with students coming back from the campus fired up now is the time to pour fuel on the fire. Many schools still have at least 5 weeks left of classes. Take this time to encourage students in starting Bible studies, getting more involved serving in your group, starting prayer meetings, or going out to evangelize.

Students need to realize that the conference was not just for their own spiritual benefit. As Christians we need to be regularly poured into, refreshed, and refilled. However, once we are it doesn’t stop there. Take the next week or so to remind your students that the passion God gave them at the conference is meant to be shared with those around them on a regular basis. The most fulfilling part of living for Christ is leading others to Him and encouraging each other in our spiritual walks. In other words, the best way to stay fired up and passionate about God is to spend time in His presence, with the body of Christ, and evangelizing.

The upcoming NYC Missions Trip January 2-8 is also a great opportunity for students to continue living out their faith and practically carry out what Jesus spoke about in Matt. 25:31-40. We’ve posted resources for help in raising the necessary funds and we want to see as many college students as possible reach NYC for Christ! You can register online until Nov. 19th.
