Starting Your Semester: Faith for the Unseen

One of my favorite chapters of the Bible is Hebrews 11. The writer talks about the fathers of the faith and thus strengthens our faith as he lists off the numerous things God accomplished through their faith.

This chapter holds two incredible verses. The first starts the discussion by saying, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Then the writer continues on to say in verse 6,

And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

I know that for many this is the first week of the new semester and you’re overwhelmed with freshman move in, planning events, and all that goes into the next two weeks. So, I’m going to keep this week’s post brief and simply ask, “What are you believing God for this year?”

If faith pleases God and it is also the evidence of things not seen, then that means God rewards those who believe Him to do the impossible – the things that others can’t see in the natural. I believe that as you seek God in faith this semester and this year He is going to do incredible things on your campus!

So, what are you believing God for this semester or this year? Share in the comments below so we can be praying and standing in faith with you.
