In my last post I mentioned Tim Elmore who has done a lot of work studying children and students who are classified as Generation Y or the Millenial generation. Tim breaks this down even further into the class he calls Generation iY, which he considers any person born from 1990 on.
He gives this generation the name iY because they have grown up in the age of the Internet, iPods, iMacs, etc. Tim recently posted a video to his blog talking about many things he’s observed about this generation. This video was made mainly for employers who are hiring people in this age range, but I think a lot of it can be really helpful for those of us who are working with these students regularly in our ministries as well.

You can read more on Tim’s blog here. Is there anything else that you have noticed about this generation that has been helpful in your ministry? If so, please share it below in the comments, so we can all benefit.
I’ll be taking a break from the blog for the next few weeks for the holidays and then our missions trip to NYSUM (New York School of Urban Ministry) in New York City from January 3-8. Please be praying for our team of about 30 students and leaders as we minister to the poor and homeless in New York City! May you and your families be blessed this Christmas and have a very happy New Year!
