No, a campus planter is not an official staff member with BASIC; they are volunteers who receive significant support and care from our team, as they pioneer their own ministry on a campus.

Don’t worry about it! Nearly everyone who becomes a Campus Planter has never planted or led a ministry before. All Campus Planters will attend a training in Lima, NY on how to start a new campus ministry prior to when they relocate. This extensive training will cover things like how to find students, getting an official club set up on campus, working with your sponsoring church, training someone from the church, and discipling students. If you have a heart for people and for ministry, we’ll give you the necessary resources and training to be successful.
