Dear college ministry leader,
Thank you.
You work is not in vain. When you invest, when you sow seed, you will reap a harvest! College ministry is work, but it’s important. Thank you.
[su_quote cite=”Galatians 6:7″]Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.[/su_quote]
I now am a ministry leader, but while a student I had three different school experiences, and I walked with three of you, three distinct college ministry leaders.
There were times when I was hungry to learn more, to learn about God, His Word, and how it applied. We discussed canonization and which of the five-fold ministries to which I might be called. You encouraged me to prayer; evangelize; study; and worship with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength.
There were seasons where I was lonely and felt like I didn’t have a place, but you gave me opportunities to serve. Setting up chairs and playing music, I’m thankful for both. Later on, leading outreaches and Bible studies.
When I was kicking back against what seemed like pointless rules from my school, you encouraged bigger perspective. You encouraged me to do everything as worship unto the Lord, even the academic busy-work.
In my excitement, I didn’t always think things through, but you still encouraged me to keep dreaming and doing. I like to question, everything. Why do we do this? Why do we believe this? You didn’t always have answers, but you didn’t shut me down either. Further, as I explored these questions, you helped keep me grounded in the Word and the safety of the local church.
You saw potential in me. You called me higher. You raised the bar and trusted me.
Thank you for your ministry, and thank you for your friendship.
